John Oeth - Musician - Composer

I finished my twelvth prelude the other day which is a proud moment for me.  I don't think I've attempted anything this massive.  I'm about to post my D minor prelude that I really like.  The theme originated on piano in E minor.  I may do a piano transcription sometime in the future.

Hi there.  I am currently slowly working on a set of 24 +1 preludes for guitar (24 major and minor + an atonal).   I want to have this finished by the end of this year.  I also want to work on a piece that is influenced by The End of the Road by Picasso.

I graduated recently so that's pretty cool.  I have decided to double major in piano and guitar if I can handle it.  My main goal for this summer is to improve my sight reading and maybe do some major-esque works.  I just downloaded this VST called Steinberg The Grand.  Sounds wonderful; you can hear it on Piece to a Painting: The Soul of the Rose.  Well, so long.

I am going to start on the second Gymnopedie sometime in the next week.  At the moment, I am swamped with schoolwork.  I am going to try to write a few more sonnets, and I am going to start a new project in which I set paintings to music.  What I am going to call the theme, I don't know.  But I have about ten or so painting

Hello everyone.  I have posted about 5 transcriptions this week as it has been difficult to write anything original.  I'm sure it is temporary (read: I hope).  Well, I may finish off some old stuff or work on a new Laminim idea.  Have a great day.

Well, hello there.  I am trying to set up this website for recordings and my personal compositions.  Weebly's drag and drop editor is a breath of fresh air from HTML.  I pretty much forgot all the little HTML I knew in middle school.


I have Millsaps College auditions Monday for piano and guitar, which hopefully will go well.  I should actually be practicing.  So long.
